L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has opened a new Engineering Design Center in Plano, Texas, extending its renewed commitment to the United States while also leading advancements in AI (artificial intelligence), Digital Manufacturing, and Smart City technologies. The new center will target core sectors including defense, aerospace, automotive, and high-tech manufacturing, providing engineering solutions that are faster, smarter, and safer that leverage artificial intelligence. LTTS plans to hire over 350 engineers who live nearby and support an expanding clientele who want near-shore access to LTTS’s AI platform. This forward outreach shows that LTTS is committed long-term to the United States as well as its potential to become an innovator in AI-first industrial engineering.
AI-First Approach to Digital Manufacturing
At the core of the Plano center is LTTS’s vision of Digital Manufacturing powered by AI. The center will specialize in deploying solutions that automate workstations, minimize human error, and project failures ahead of their occurrence. One of their main solutions is TrackEI, a system based on AI and augmented intelligence based on computer vision analytics to identify anomalies and risks for industrial assets.
TrackEI is already enabling manufacturers around the world to reduce downtime and extend machine life. In the Plano center, LTTS will scale TrackEI for US clients, implementing localization capabilities for quick, real-time deployments as user cases arise. The center also uses AI to help streamline maintenance activities, digitize operations insights for production floors, and help transition legacy systems to smarter, connected manufacturing environments. The center encompasses a convergence of traditional engineering to self-learning systems that maximize output with minimal human input.
Supporting Smart City Technologies
Beyond factories, LTTS is bringing its AI capabilities to the Smart City domain. The Plano team will help U.S. projects for urban AI infrastructure. By covering everything from intelligent surveillance to connected mobility and smart energy grids. LTTS’s i-BEMS platform and software-defined imaging, combined with monitoring cities to obtain real-time data, enables cities to react faster to urban challenges.
Along with creating systems that comply with federal U.S. standards and ITAR, the Plano center will be a springboard for public-private partnerships in the areas of mobility, building management, and smart infrastructure, with AI part of the solution that meets the needs of reducing waste, improving safety, and managing resources.
Generative AI to Accelerate Engineering Cycles
One of the most forward-looking initiatives at the Plano Center. It is the use of Generative AI in engineering design and delivery. LTTS will deploy GenAI models to generate design concepts, automate documentation, and speed up code generation for embedded systems. This helps engineers reduce design time, identify errors early, and improve consistency across projects.
LTTS’s Fusion platform, which merges AI and analytics. It will also be developed further in Plano to support U.S. clients seeking agile, data-driven engineering models. Generative AI is no longer experimental for LTTS, it’s central to how the company plans to scale innovation. With tools that learn from existing designs and propose intelligent alternatives, LTTS is redefining how engineers work in high-compliance sectors.
Local Talent and Scalable Innovation
The Plano expansion is more than a location, it’s a strategy. LTTS will onboard over 350 engineers in the coming years, building a diverse team trained to work on AI-centric projects. These teams will collaborate closely with global innovation hubs in Israel and India to bring new ideas. By scaling its onshore capabilities, LTTS is reducing response times and ensuring higher data security for American clients.
The Plano center represents the company’s belief that AI should not only solve problems, it should anticipate them. With a clear focus on Digital Manufacturing, Smart City integration, and Generative AI. LTTS is setting a new benchmark for how engineering services can evolve in real time.
