Adobe’s Premiere Pro Embraces AI for Enhanced Editing Capabilities

Adobe plans to boost its Premiere Pro video editing software with AI-powered tools to make editing easier. Featured recently, the two AI sets to be presented in 2024 are Object Addition and Removal, which lets users simply add or delete features from video easily, and Generative Extend, which empowers users to quickly extend clips by adding frames to them.

Object Addition & Removal provide users a degree of flexibility to remove, replace, or swap out objects from videos whether they are doing it manually or by using a technique(s) like masking or by other means.

Generative Extend in Premiere Pro allows you to prolong your video clips by simply adding frames, thus providing the opportunity to seamlessly transition to the time of shot changes.

Via intuitive location and tracking tools, the user can simply add or remove their objects to the video, whatever it might be; by the undesired elements eliminating, or the change of actors’ attire, or the enhancement set design with landscapes or plants.

Another strength is the text-to-video effect, allowing users to create clippings just inside Premiere Pro. The possibility to type in the text or upload the images gives the users much flexibility to produce media-rich clips for the B-roll, storyboarding, or other creative endeavors.

These new creation procedures enrich the entire editing surface, giving video editors greater convenience and control.

Just like in the case of Generative Extend, this tool is designed to simplify the process of lengthening the duration of shots which facilitates a smoother transition between scenes hence making the process easy for the user.

On top of that, Adobe introduced a broad range of AI audio features targeted for launch in May 2024. Their purpose is to improve sound manipulation and therefore create high-quality soundtracks during the editing process.

Among the new features we have the interactive fade handles that make audio transitions easier and faster, a new Essential Sound badge that is AI-driven and adds descriptive tags (such as dialogue, music, sound effects, or ambiance), effect badges for clear indication of opportunity and effects on clips, and redesigned waveforms in the timeline that auto-resize.
