Docker Inc. presented findings of their Docker AI Trends Report 2024 based on the survey of 1300 developers across the globe. The report pinpoints AI’s major role in application development and names several opportunities for advancing its development methods.

Nahid Samsati, a VP of Docker of Developer Experience, underlines that the Docker AI Trends Report 2024 confirms “AI is not merely a trend but a shift in software development“. She mentioned that she looked forward to furthering the good work her team has been doing this year.

  • Widespread AI Adoption: 64% of respondents use AI applications for coding, gadget documentation, and research, suggesting that it is profoundly integrated into the development process.
  • AI Perceptions: As soon as (65%) showed AI in the form of expediting processes and focusing on essential tasks, 65% approved positively. In this regard, 45% of respondents opposed allotting additional weight to AI in the industry.
  • AI in Daily Activities: This is where developers use AI during programming, document preparation, and researching, while at the same time replacing the most demanding parts of their work, like coding.
